This helped counter Cade Cunningham’s 35-point performance for the Pistons.
Cunningham, a hometown hero from Arlington, Texas, made his debut in his hometown, putting on a show with 35 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Despite being the first overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, injuries had kept him from playing in his hometown until now.
Cunningham carried the Pistons on his back, taking 30 shots to get his points, but his efforts kept his team in the game. He consistently drove to the basket in the final minute, scoring crucial baskets that kept the Pistons close.
