Although Nakobe Dean is sidelined for the season with a knee injury, his teammates are ensuring he remains involved with the team.
Nakobe Dean was absent from Philly last Sunday when the Eagles secured the NFC Championship, earning their spot in Super Bowl LIX.
Yet, he was still involved in the celebration.
While recovering in Los Angeles from surgery on his torn patellar tendon, the Eagles’ middle linebacker stayed connected as his teammates FaceTimed him from the victorious locker room. On the screen, they were met with Dean’s beaming smile.
“It really highlights the bond within our team and how much we care about each other,” said Nolan Smith, Dean’s close friend and former college roommate, who carried Dean’s jersey while running out of the tunnel before the divisional round.
“One of the biggest things our coach emphasizes is connection. We don’t just talk about it—we show it through our actions in our own way.”
Before the Eagles even entered the locker room, head coach Nick Sirianni had a special moment with Dean over FaceTime, standing on the confetti-covered field at Lincoln Financial Field.
