Star pass rusher Myles Garrett may be nearing the end of his time in Cleveland. On Monday, he announced that he has requested a trade from the Browns after spending eight seasons with the team. Since being drafted first overall in 2017, Garrett has become one of the league’s top defensive ends. In his statement, he emphasized his desire to avoid complacency and pursue his ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl. Garrett is coming off a strong season, finishing second in the NFL with 14.0 sacks, trailing only Trey Hendrickson of the Bengals. CBS Sports’ Tyler Sullivan highlights Garrett’s career achievements in greater detail.
Sullivan: “Garrett, a six-time All-Pro (including two Second Team selections), has recorded seven straight seasons with double-digit sacks and has reached at least 14 sacks in each of the past four years. This season, across 17 games, he accumulated 14 sacks, 28 quarterback hits, three forced fumbles, and a league-best 22 tackles for loss.”
