Three-star offensive tackle Max Wright has committed to Texas.

The highly sought-after in-state lineman chose to remain home and join the Longhorns.

The Texas Longhorns’ 2026 class gained its first #BigHuman on Wednesday as Max Wright joined offensive line coach Kyle Flood’s unit.

The tall tackle from Melissa High School held 22 offers, including ones from Texas Tech, Arkansas, and TCU. Before making his decision, Wright attended Junior Days at Texas and SMU, with his only official visit set for Austin in June.

Wright is a consensus three-star recruit, ranked 409th nationally and 33rd among offensive tackles, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Standing at 6’6.5” and weighing 290 pounds as he enters his senior year with the Cardinal, Wright has the ideal build for a tackle and would benefit from a college strength and conditioning program. He is the third commitment in the 2026 class, joining top-25 quarterback Dia Bell and wide receiver Chris Stewart from Humble Shadow Creek.

He becomes part of an offensive line unit that consistently adds talent, giving him time to develop physically and adapt to the demands of playing tackle in the SEC. The Longhorns previously recruited a similarly ranked and built tackle from Melissa, Trevor Goosby, who is expected to start at left tackle in 2025 after two years of development.
