Duke University’s men’s basketball team has advanced to the Elite Eight after defeating Arizona 100-93 in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament. This thrilling win was led by freshman Cooper Flagg, who scored 30 points, including a buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of the first half.
The game was closely contested, with Arizona narrowing the margin to single digits towards the end. However, Duke’s strong offense and defense helped them maintain their lead. Tyrese Proctor and Kyle Filipowski also contributed significantly to the team’s victory.
Duke’s win over Arizona marks their 25th Elite Eight appearance in program history. They will now face NC State in the Elite Eight, with the winner advancing to the Final Four.
In their previous Elite Eight appearance, Duke lost to NC State, concluding their season with a 27-9 record. However, this year’s team is looking strong, and fans are hoping they’ll make it to the Final Four.
