BREAKING: Auburn senior guard Chad Baker-Mazara, who recently announced his intention to enter the transfer portal, has officially withdrawn his decision and will return to Auburn for one more season.
The 25-year-old guard was instrumental in the Tigers’ remarkable 2024-25 campaign, playing a pivotal role in guiding the team to just its second Final Four appearance in program history. Known for his energy, leadership, and versatility, Baker-Mazara emerged as one of Auburn’s most consistent two-way players. His ability to guard multiple positions, knock down clutch shots, and create offense both on and off the ball made him a valuable asset in high-pressure postseason moments.
Baker-Mazara averaged solid numbers throughout the season, contributing in scoring, rebounding, and defense. His experience and poise under pressure often steadied the Tigers during critical stretches of the season and postseason play. With his decision to stay, Auburn retains a key veteran presence who brings not only skill and production, but also leadership and toughness.
Baker-Mazara’s return is a major boost for head coach Bruce Pearl’s squad as they look to build on the momentum of their Final Four run and compete at the highest level again next season.
