Matthew Stafford is an American football quarterback who currently plays for the Los Angeles Rams. Born on February 7, 1988, in Tampa, Florida, Stafford has established himself as one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL.
Early Life and College Career
Stafford grew up in Dallas, Texas, and attended Highland Park High School, where he was coached by Randy Allen. He led his school team to a 15-0 record and won the UIL 4A Division I State Championship. Stafford then attended the University of Georgia, where he played college football and posted an impressive college QBR of 77.4.
NFL Career
The Detroit Lions selected Stafford as the first overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. He spent 12 seasons with the Lions, setting multiple franchise records, including passing yards (45,109), passing touchdowns (282), attempts (6,224), and completions (3,898).
In 2021, Stafford was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, where he led the team to a Super Bowl win in his first season. He threw for 4,886 yards and 41 touchdowns, tying his career high.
