
Congratulations to former Florida Gators men’s basketball coach Billy Donovan on his well-deserved selection to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025. During his 19-season tenure at Florida from 1996 to 2015, Donovan transformed the Gators into a national powerhouse, leading the team to two consecutive NCAA national championships in 2006 and 2007, four Final Four appearances, and six Southeastern Conference regular-season titles.
Donovan’s coaching excellence is further highlighted by his 467 career wins at Florida, making him the second-winningest coach in SEC history.
His impact on the program was profound, elevating Florida basketball to unprecedented heights and leaving a lasting legacy.
After his successful collegiate coaching career, Donovan transitioned to the NBA, where he currently serves as the head coach of the Chicago Bulls.
His induction into the Hall of Fame is a testament to his significant contributions to the sport and his enduring influence on basketball at both the collegiate and professional levels.
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025 includes other notable figures such as Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Sue Bird, Maya Moore, and Sylvia Fowles. The enshrinement ceremonies are scheduled for September 5–6, 2025, at the Mohegan Sun and the Hall in Springfield, Massachusetts.
