Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, who became a prominent child star during the 1990s and 2000s, has died at the age of 39.
According to Manhattan police, they responded to an emergency call on Wednesday morning and found Trachtenberg unresponsive and unconscious; she was declared dead at the scene.
Trachtenberg was widely recognized for her role as Dawn Summers—the younger sister of Buffy in Buffy the Vampire Slayer—and later portrayed the cunning socialite Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl, which aired from 2007 to2012. She made her film debut in 1996 with Harriet the Spy and also appeared in several Nickelows.
