Florida State University (FSU) has embarked on a comprehensive renovation of Doak Campbell Stadium, aiming to uphold its status as a premier venue in collegiate sports. The project has secured approval for up to $265 million in funding, reflecting FSU’s dedication to enhancing the fan experience and modernizing the facility.

Key Objectives of the Renovation:

Enhanced Seating and Amenities: The renovation plans to reduce the stadium’s capacity from 79,560 to approximately 70,000 seats. This reduction allows for the installation of more spacious, chair-backed seating, improved handrails, and expanded premium seating options.

Upgraded Facilities: Enhancements include the addition of a new kitchen, increased points of sale for concessions and merchandise, and modernized restroom facilities, all designed to enrich the overall game-day experience.

Premium Seating Options: The project introduces diverse premium seating choices, such as founders’ boxes and a field-level club. These options aim to offer fans a more personalized and luxurious viewing experience.

North End Zone Club Revamp: The existing north end zone club will be reconfigured to reduce capacity and incorporate various seating arrangements, including loge seating and drink rails, to better meet fan preferences.

Project Timeline and Management:

The renovation is set to commence with demolition on December 6, aiming for completion by August 2025, in time for the season opener against Alabama. Nations Group is overseeing the project, with Populous as the designer and a joint venture between Manhattan and Culpepper Construction serving as the builder.

Financial Commitment:

FSU’s Board of Trustees has authorized up to $265 million in debt to fund the renovation, demonstrating the university’s commitment to maintaining Doak Campbell Stadium as a top-tier facility.

This renovation underscores FSU’s dedication to providing an exceptional environment for fans and athletes alike, ensuring that Doak Campbell Stadium remains a cornerstone of collegiate athletics.
