The Duke Blue Devils have secured the No 1 seed in the East Region for the 2025 NCAA Tournament, marking the 15th time in program history they’ve achieved a top seed.
This selection comes on the heels of their ACC Tournament championship, where they defeated Louisville 73-62, even without star freshman Cooper Flagg, who was sidelined due to an ankle injury.
Duke’s opening game is set for Friday in Raleigh, where they’ll face the winner of a play-in matchup between American University and Mount St. Mary’s.
Should they advance, the Blue Devils would meet the victor of the Mississippi State vs. Baylor game.
Under the guidance of head coach Jon Scheyer, Duke boasts a 31-3 record this season and is making its 47th NCAA Tournament appearance.
Historically, the Blue Devils have excelled as a No. 1 seed, winning four of their five national championships from this position.
The East Region also features strong teams like Arizona and Alabama, setting the stage for competitive matchups.
