As of March 11, 2025, there are reports that five-star running back named Cameron Skattebo decommitting from Auburn and committing to Alabama over Penn State and Tennessee. In fact, there is no widely known recruit by that name in recent college football recruiting cycles.
Similar scenarios have occurred in the past. For instance, in November 2023, four-star running back J’Marion Burnette decommitted from Auburn, reopening his recruitment to explore other opportunities. Additionally, in December 2011, T.J. Yeldon, a five-star running back from Daphne, Alabama, flipped his commitment from Auburn to Alabama, citing the Crimson Tide’s strong player development and winning tradition as key factors in his decision.
These instances highlight the dynamic nature of college football recruiting, where top prospects often reassess their commitments based on coaching changes, program performance, and personal preferences.
