In a significant boost to their 2026 recruiting class, the LSU Tigers have secured a commitment from five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys. Hailing from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Keys is widely regarded as the top wide receiver prospect in the 2026 class and ranks among the nation’s elite recruits.
High School Career and Achievements
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 185 pounds, Keys has showcased exceptional athleticism and skill throughout his high school career. In his junior season, he recorded 58 receptions for 1,275 yards and 14 touchdowns, playing a pivotal role in leading Hattiesburg High School to a deep playoff run.
Beyond football, Keys is a multi-sport athlete, excelling in track and field events such as the high jump, triple jump, and 110-meter hurdles, where he qualified for the Mississippi 6A state championships and earned a bronze medal in the high jump.
Significance of the Commitment
Keys’ decision to join LSU over other powerhouse programs like Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas A&M underscores the Tigers’ prowess in attracting top-tier talent. His commitment elevates LSU’s 2026 recruiting class to the No. 1 spot nationally, reflecting the program’s strong recruiting momentum under head coach Brian Kelly.
Keys becomes LSU’s highest-rated wide receiver recruit since Early Doucet in 2004, highlighting the significance of his addition to the Tigers’ roster.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Keys stated, “Once A Tiger, Always A Tiger,” signaling his commitment to contributing to LSU’s storied football legacy.
His arrival is anticipated to bolster the Tigers’ offensive capabilities, offering a dynamic playmaker poised to make an immediate impact on the field.
