Jonaz Walton has released the list of the 10 schools he is down to.
That’s an impressive list of programs for Walton—he’s clearly a sought-after talent. With schools like Alabama, Georgia, and Florida State in the mix, it looks like it’ll be a fierce recruiting battle. Being from Carrollton, you’d think Georgia might have a slight home-state edge, but Alabama’s track record with running backs could be a big factor too.
Walton sounds like a complete package—power, speed, and agility. A 10.63 in the 100-meter dash is impressive for a back his size, especially with that 210-pound frame. Alabama has had success with versatile backs like that, so it makes sense they’re pushing hard for him.
Is Georgia making a strong push to keep him in-state, or has Alabama gained the upper hand in his recruitment so far? We wait to see.
