
The Georgia Bulldogs secured a thrilling 8-7 victory over the Florida Gators, thanks to Ryland Zaborowski’s two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning. Georgia trailed early, as Florida scored three runs in the first inning, marking the fourth consecutive game the Bulldogs faced a first-inning deficit.
However, Georgia quickly regained the lead in the second inning, sparked by Devin Obee’s three-run double and Kolby Branch’s single, which scored Obee on a throwing error.
The game remained a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading runs. Bobby Boser homered in the third, and Luke Heyman singled in the fourth to tie the game 5-5.
In the seventh, Robbie Burnett drew a leadoff walk, followed by Ryland Zaborowski’s single. Tre Phelps then gave Georgia the lead with a sacrifice fly.
Florida regained the lead in the eighth, but Georgia’s Slate Alford singled in the ninth, setting the stage for Zaborowski’s game-winning homer.
Kolten Smith closed the game in the ninth, walking the first batter before striking out the next three to secure the Bulldogs’ 8-7 victory.
