Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Nitro Tuggle was arrested last week for reckless driving after reaching a speed of 107 mph, according to police reports. Following the news of his arrest, the team suspended Tuggle. He was taken into custody at the Athens-Clarke County Jail shortly before 2 a.m. on March 19, facing misdemeanor charges for reckless driving and speeding.
An arrest report obtained by ESPN revealed that Tuggle was traveling at 107 mph before being pulled over. The report stated that he stopped on the right side of the lane rather than the shoulder and almost exited the vehicle without putting it in park. The arresting officer noted these details in the report, highlighting the potential dangers of the situation.
A team official addressed the incident, acknowledging the concerning trend of young athletes arriving at college without driver’s licenses. While stating that it was not an excuse, he emphasized the importance of continued education and discipline to prevent similar incidents in the future.
