Jaguars hire James Gladstone as GM: Former Rams front offensive executive joining Jacksonville

After an extensive search, the Jacksonville Jaguars have hired James Gladstone, formerly the Los Angeles Rams’ director of scouting strategy, as their new general manager. Gladstone secured the job after completing a second interview, emerging as the top choice from a pool of 11 candidates, including five who received second interviews. Jaguars owner Shad Khan praised Gladstone’s vision, communication, and understanding of the league, calling him “exceptional in every regard.”

“It’s going to be fun watching James work with our football leadership team of Liam Coen, Tony Boselli and Tony Khan, but most of all it will be rewarding. I am confident of that.”

Gladstone spent the past nine seasons with the Rams, serving the last three as director of scouting strategy, where he managed scouting operations, evaluated players, and contributed to special projects. He also worked closely with Rams GM Les Snead on strategic planning. During his tenure, the Rams won four division titles, made six playoff appearances, secured two conference championships, and won the Super Bowl in 2021. A St. Louis native, Gladstone previously worked in educational administration and coached football at Clayton High School and St. John Vianney High School in St. Louis.

Gladstone will now collaborate with new Jaguars head coach Liam Coen, who served as the Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator in 2024. The Jaguars are looking to rebound from a disappointing 3-14 season, which resulted in the dismissals of former head coach Doug Pederson and general manager Trent Baalke.
