Following a well-deserved break after their national championship victory, the Ohio State Buckeyes kicked off spring practices on Monday. Along with players and staff, recruits from across the state and country are visiting to observe practices, meet coaches, and experience the campus in the spring.
Ohio State hosted several top recruits from the 2026 and 2027 classes during the start of spring practice, including Bedford (Ohio) running back Rayshawn Duncan Jr. The four-star athlete, who holds 21 offers but has yet to receive one from the Buckeyes, was impressed by the intensity of practice and the competitiveness of the running backs. He also appreciated the support from Ohio State’s coaching staff, particularly Tony Johnson, Carlos Locklyn, and Ryan Day. Duncan, who aspires to play for the Buckeyes, plans to return for another visit in June.
Defensive back Zachary Gleason Jr. from Central Catholic (Pittsburgh) enjoyed his visit to Ohio State, praising the program and the way Coach Tim Walton and the staff run practices. While he hasn’t received an offer from the Buckeyes yet, he holds offers from schools in Ohio and the ACC and has recently visited Indiana and Pitt.
Meanwhile, Julian Baker, one of Ohio’s top running backs, was also in Columbus to observe Ohio State’s first day of spring practice as part of his ongoing recruitment journey.
Julian Baker had a positive visit to Ohio State, highlighted by a meaningful conversation with running backs coach Carlos Locklyn. The standout Ohio running back recently picked up offers from Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Indiana, bringing his total to seven Division I offers as he nears the end of his sophomore year.
Also visiting Ohio State was Brock Williams, a top tight end prospect from Libertyville, Illinois, in the 2027 class. Williams, who received an offer from the Buckeyes in January, already holds over 25 offers and is expected to be one of the most highly sought-after recruits nationwide.
Tight end JT Geraci from Don Bosco Prep (New Jersey) was among several tight ends visiting Ohio State on Monday. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound prospect is in the midst of a busy recruiting schedule, with visits to Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Boston College, Harvard, and Duke planned throughout March.
Meanwhile, four-star linebacker Amarri Irvin from IMG Academy, ranked as the No. 2 linebacker and No. 55 overall player in the country by 247Sports, was also in attendance. Irvin, who received an offer from Ohio State last May, has drawn interest from top programs nationwide and picked up a Notre Dame offer less than 24 hours after his visit to Columbus.
