The Georgia Bulldogs are turning to Gunner Stockton as their new quarterback after Carson Beck’s transfer to Miami, but Paul Finebaum argues the team has downgraded at the position despite Stockton’s SEC Championship success against Texas.
Gunner Stockton is thrilled to fulfill his dream of being Georgia’s starting quarterback, but while fans are excited about the change, Paul Finebaum warns that losing Carson Beck, despite his inconsistencies, is a significant setback for the Bulldogs.
“They lost a better quarterback than the guy they have,” Finebaum said, per On3 Sports.
Stockton seems like a bit of a wild card for Georgia heading into 2025. He’s shown flashes of potential, but consistency might be a concern, especially compared to Beck’s more reliable performance. If Finebaum is sounding the alarm, there’s probably some legitimate uncertainty about the quarterback situation.
Do you think Stockton can grow into the role, or should Georgia explore other options?
