In the fourth game of their five-game road trip, the Golden State Warriors will face off against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday morning.
Both teams enter the matchup following different outcomes in their previous games, with the Warriors falling to the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center.
The New York Knicks continue to solidify their spot among the Eastern Conference’s top teams after securing a thrilling 116-112 overtime win against the Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center on Monday morning.
Despite trailing for much of the game, Jalen Brunson led the charge with eight points in the final five minutes, sparking a 15-5 run to force overtime. He then added six more points to finish with 31, delivering a standout individual performance.
Brunson was one of five Knicks players to score in double figures, joined by OG Anunoby with 23, Josh Hart with 14, and Karl-Anthony Towns, who posted 19 points and 16 rebounds for his 44th double-double of the season.
Under Tom Thibodeau, the Knicks have now won three straight games, defeating the Philadelphia 76ers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Heat, and have gone 13-5 since their 116-99 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on January 18.
With a 40-20 record through 60 games, the Knicks currently sit third in the Eastern Conference, three wins behind the second-place Boston Celtics and six ahead of the fourth-place Milwaukee Bucks.
The Golden State Warriors saw their push for an automatic playoff spot in the Western Conference take a hit as they fell 126-119 to the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday morning.
After a sensational 56-point performance against the Orlando Magic, Stephen Curry led the Warriors with a 29-point, 13-assist double-double. However, it was Quentin Grimes who stole the spotlight at the Wells Fargo Center, scoring 44 points on 75% shooting while adding six rebounds to help Philadelphia snap a nine-game losing streak and claim their first win over Golden State since December 2022.
Prior to the loss, the Warriors had won five straight games—a streak that coincided with the arrival of veteran forward Jimmy Butler—matching their longest winning run since late October to early November.
Under Steve Kerr, Golden State has gone 7-2 since dropping consecutive games to the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers in February, climbing to seventh in the Western Conference standings, just behind the sixth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers.
Before facing the Knicks on Wednesday, the Warriors will aim to bounce back on Tuesday when they visit the Spectrum Center to take on the Charlotte Hornets, who have lost their last five meetings against Golden State since a 120-113 overtime win in October 2022.

The New York Knicks will be without German center Ariel Hukporti, who is set to miss four to six weeks after tearing the meniscus in his left knee.
Aside from Hukporti’s absence, the Knicks have no major injury concerns heading into Wednesday’s matchup, allowing Tom Thibodeau to field a nearly full-strength squad.
For the Golden State Warriors, Jimmy Butler missed Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers and will be evaluated ahead of Tuesday’s game against Charlotte. Meanwhile, Jonathan Kuminga remains sidelined with an ankle injury sustained against the Memphis Grizzlies on January 5, ruling him out of contention.
Stephen Curry continued his strong form with another standout performance against Philadelphia, bringing his post-All-Star Game average to 30 points per game over five outings, highlighted by a 56-point explosion against Orlando on February 28.
