Recruiting Roundup: Michigan has flipped four-star Miami legacy recruit

The Michigan Wolverines have been just as active in recruiting as they have on the field. With spring practices in full swing, it’s a prime opportunity for prospects to visit campus — and many recent visitors have come away impressed by both the program and its facilities.

Michigan targeting son of Miami legend

Camdin Portis, a four-star cornerback in the 2026 class and the son of former Miami and NFL star Clinton Portis, has been committed to the Hurricanes for some time. Still, Michigan defensive backs coach LaMar Morgan continues to make a strong push for the standout junior.

Portis, who’s seen his recruitment surge with offers from top programs like Michigan, Florida, and Ohio State, recently visited Ann Arbor.

“It was good,” Portis told On3’s Ethan McDowell. “You can see why they win. They might not have a bunch of scrappy guys, but they’re really well-coached and disciplined. I think they’re going to keep winning.”

He also praised Coach Morgan: “He’s intelligent — really, really smart.”
