Jordan Pope is set for another season with the Longhorns. The Texas guard announced his decision to return for the 2025-26 season, playing under new head coach Sean Miller.
After transferring from Oregon State, where he spent two seasons, Pope made an immediate impact in Austin. He led Texas with 1.0 steal per game while contributing 11.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per contest.
Retaining Jordan Pope was a key priority for new Texas head coach Sean Miller, and now it’s official—Pope will don the Burnt Orange once again for the 2025-26 season.
Before transferring to Texas, Pope had a standout sophomore year at Oregon State, starting all 32 games and averaging a career-high 17.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. He also showcased his efficiency, shooting 45.1% from the field and 37.1% from three-point range.
Pope’s return is another significant development for the Longhorns as they transition into a new era under Miller. Texas also received a boost with Tramon Mark announcing his return. After transferring from Arkansas, Mark contributed 10.6 points per game last season. His best collegiate year came with the Razorbacks, where he averaged 16.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
Texas finished the season with a 19-16 overall record, including a 6-12 mark in SEC play. Despite their struggles, the Longhorns secured an NCAA Tournament bid as one of the last teams in the field. However, their postseason run was short-lived, as they fell to Sean Miller’s Xavier squad in the First Four.
