The Texas Longhorns are among a few major programs opting for an alternative to the traditional spring football game, disappointing many fans who enjoyed the annual free event, but athletic director Chris Del Conte aims to keep spirits high.
During his annual Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday night, Chris Del Conte announced ‘Texas Football Fan Day’ as the replacement event for the spring game, set for April 26, featuring interactive activities like player photo ops, team autographs, and a team shop fire sale, with more details to come.
Texas will still conduct traditional spring practices to develop young players, but Chris Del Conte revealed that Steve Sarkisian is shifting to a more NFL-style approach with an OTA-style camp, emphasizing system integration and player development to compete for a national championship.
