Cortez Redding, a highly sought-after 4-star safety prospect from Jonesboro, Georgia, has narrowed down his college options to eight schools. Auburn University has made the cut, alongside other prominent programs such as Florida, Florida State, Indiana, LSU, Miami, NC State, and Ole Miss.
Redding, who stands at 6-0 and weighs 175 pounds, is considered one of the top safety prospects in the country. He is ranked as the No. 14 safety recruit in the nation by ESPN and is a top 20 prospect at his position according to On3 and 247 Sports.
The talented safety has already locked in official visits with Miami and Ole Miss, and it’s likely that he’ll make official visits to the other schools on his list, including Auburn. This will give him the opportunity to experience each campus, meet with coaches and players, and get a feel for which program is the best fit for him.
Redding is known for his exceptional skills on the field, including his ability to play in the box and make disruptive plays. He’s also an excellent open-field tackler, which allows him to bring down ball carriers in space. These skills, combined with his athleticism and instincts, make him a highly coveted recruit.
Auburn’s coaching staff, led by head coach Hugh Freeze, will likely make a strong push to land Redding’s commitment. The Tigers have a rich tradition of producing talented defensive backs, and Redding would be an excellent addition to their secondary.
