Georgia football remains a contender for the nation’s top-ranked ATH.
Right now, it feels like Georgia football is getting great news from nearly every recruit in the country—at least the ones Kirby Smart is targeting and prioritizing.
February is the time of year when recruits start narrowing down their college choices. This means top prospects from across the country will soon be revealing their top schools. When it comes to the highest-ranked players, Georgia is usually among the programs that make the cut.
That’s exactly what took place on Thursday with the nation’s top-ranked ATH.
Five-star ATH Brandon Arrington hails from La Mesa, CA. The On3 Industry Rankings list him as the eighth overall prospect in the nation. Additionally, he is the second-ranked player from California and the top ATH in the 2026 class.
According to Hayes Fawcett at On3, Arrington has unveiled his top 12 school preferences, and Georgia was one of them. Along with the Bulldogs, the list includes Florida State, USC, Michigan, Alabama, Penn State, Texas A&M, UCLA, LSU, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Oregon.
No formal predictions have been made for Arrington’s recruitment yet, but On3 clearly favors one team. According to their analysis, Texas A&M currently has a 92.1 percent chance of landing him.
The upside for Georgia is that there’s still plenty of time in this recruitment for Kirby Smart and his staff to gain some ground. At this point, catching up would involve inviting Arrington to Athens as soon as possible. Unfortunately, that won’t be possible until March due to the current recruiting dead period in college football, but hopefully Georgia will be able to improve their standing with Arrington as soon as the period ends.
