Jimmy Butler, recently traded from the Miami Heat to the Golden State Warriors, is facing a lawsuit related to his previous residence in Miami Beach. The lawsuit, filed by Five Star Marketing and Promotions, Inc., alleges that Butler failed to pay $260,000 in rent for August and September 2024 and left the property in significant disrepair. Reported damages include issues with the air conditioning system leading to leaks and mold, as well as an unmaintained pool that became overgrown with algae. The total damages claimed amount to approximately $387,000.
This legal issue follows Butler’s tumultuous departure from the Miami Heat. In January 2025, the Heat suspended him for seven games due to “conduct detrimental to the team,” after which Butler requested a trade. He was subsequently acquired by the Golden State Warriors in a multi-team deal before the NBA trade deadline.
Since joining the Warriors, Butler has been a valuable contributor, averaging 20 points per game and helping the team secure several victories. His performance, alongside Stephen Curry’s exceptional play, has been instrumental in the Warriors’ recent success.
