Zakai Zeigler, Tennessee’s senior point guard, has distinguished himself as one of only three Southeastern Conference (SEC) players in the past 50 seasons to record multiple 10-point, 10-assist games in NCAA Tournament play. His first such performance occurred in the 2024 NCAA Tournament against Saint Peter’s, where he tallied 11 points and 10 assists, marking the first points-assists double-double by a Volunteer in tournament history.
In the 2025 NCAA Tournament opener against Wofford, Zeigler achieved another 10-point, 10-assist game, contributing 12 points and 12 assists in Tennessee’s victory.
Beyond these achievements, Zeigler has etched his name into Tennessee’s record books. He became the program’s all-time leader in assists during the first half of the game against Wofford, surpassing the previous record held by Johnny Darden, who amassed 715 assists from 1975 to 1979.
Zeigler’s exceptional court vision and playmaking abilities have been instrumental in Tennessee’s recent successes, solidifying his legacy as one of the premier point guards in the program’s history.
