Using this medium, I would love to inform all candidates, seeking for admission into the National Open University of Nigeria Nursing program, that the academic institution, has officially released a detailed guideline for all applicants, seeking for admission into noun nursing program for 2020/2021 academic session.

I am happy to notify and inform all interested applicants, that the sale of forms for admission into the National Open University of Nigeria, (NOUN) Nursing program has commenced. The nursing program has been added to the noun list of approved and registrable courses for the 2020/2021 academic session.

Please be informed that the NOUN Nursing application for admission has started for 2020 as well.

To make payment easy for aspirants, helping them to avoid the long queue in banks, the NOUN Admission board in collaboration with some designated banks and other stakeholders in the admission process, provided a simple means of registration.

All prospective applicants are required to visit the NOUN Study Center nearest to them for detailed information and explanations on the procedure for application for admission.

Procedures for Online Application for Admission into NOUN Nursing 2020.

1. The very first step to getting admitted into the NOUN nursing programme, is to walk into any of the approved banks of your choice, which is mentioned below;

* Access Bank Plc,
* WEMA Bank,
* First City Monument Bank,
* Afribank Nigeria Plc,
* Skye Bank,
* Sterling Bank,
* Union Bank,
* Ecobank,
* Zenith Bank,
* Guaranty Trust Bank,

2. Proceed and pay for the NOUN application form (please specify that payment is for the NOUN online application form when you get to the bank). Because Noun has it’s own specified design teller for payment of admission.

3. After payment, you are required to obtain a NOUN Teller and the Transaction receipt, specially designed for NOUN for the purpose of admission.

4. Once done, proceed and take the Transaction Reference Numbers and Pin Numbers. Because the transaction receipt has two numbers.

5. Once you have the two numbers, including the Transaction reference number and pin numbers, you are required to visit the portal using your PC/Laptop/Desktop Computer or visit a cyber cafe for Internet access.

6. Logon to the official portal of NOU Nigeria, at noun.edu.ng, and visit the application form portal.

7. Once the page loads up on your computer, use your Reference Number and Pin Numbers (as contained in the Transaction reference Documents which you obtained at the bank), to access your NOUN online application form.

8. Fill the application/registration form with the required information.

9. All applicants should take note, that if you have not fully completed all the required information, you are free to continue or correct any error before you click on the submit button. Once you’ve submitted the application form, you can’t edit it again.

10. When you have fully completed your registration, you may choose to submit your Form by clicking the submit button.

How much is National Open University of Nigeria Nursing Application Form?

The NOUN application/registration form costs N5,000 only for undergraduate programs and Ten thousand naira, (N10,000.00) only for Postgraduate Programmes respectively.

Admission Requirements for B.Sc. Public Health,

This is to inform and notify all candidates who are intending to enter the B.Sc Public Health Programme, must satisfy the University admission requirements as follows:

DIRECT ENTRY (ADMISSION INTO 200 LEVELS).

It is very important that all applicants and candidates must be admitted into the 200 Level of the programme, provided they have the following qualifications as listed below:

  1.  At least five (5) credit level passes at not more than two (2) sittings at the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/NECO/GCE) examinations in the following subjects as listed below:
  • English Language
  • Biology or Health Science,
  • Chemistry,
  • Mathematics,
  • Physics or any other science subject.

2. An additional qualification from any health-related discipline such as listed below;

Community Health Officer Training Certificate (CHO),
NCE (Physical/Health Education, Science Education, Nutrition, Home Economics)
Health Superintendent,
Registered Nurse (RN),
Physiology,
Medical Laboratory Science, etc.

Admission into 100 level is not available.

Admission Requirement for BNSc. Nursing Programme

This is a must meet requirements for all candidates are aspiring to enter the BNSc Degree, it is a must, that they have the following qualifications as listed below:

  • Five (5) credit passes in not more than two sittings in WASCE, GCE, NECO in the following subject listed below:
    English Language,
    Mathematics,
    Physics,
    Chemistry,
    Biology
  • Must have a registered Nurse or Midwifery Certificates/Diploma of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria before your application will be approved.
  • All applicants must have a valid practice license issued by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
  • Applicants and aspiring students must have six months of working experience and letter of attestation from their current place of clinical practice for registration.
  • HND or a good first degree in related field of study. In addition, five (5) credits in the following subjects listed below;
    English,
    Mathematics,
    a science subject and two (2) other subjects.
