Alabama is actively pursuing Elijah Golden, a standout defensive lineman from Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School in Sarasota, Florida. Standing 6’4″ and weighing 275 pounds, Golden has been recognized as the No. 1 defensive lineman in the Class of 2026 by 247Sports. His impressive junior season statistics include 31 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, five sacks, and seven quarterback hurries.
Golden has received offers from numerous top-tier programs, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, and North Carolina. He has expressed high interest in Alabama, rating his interest level as “definitely a 10” and highlighting the program’s esteemed coaching staff and strong football tradition. Golden plans to visit Tuscaloosa in the spring of 2025 to further explore what Alabama has to offer.
In addition to his recruitment, Golden has committed to playing in the 2025 Navy All-American Bowl, scheduled for January 11, 2025, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. This prestigious event will feature the nation’s top 100 high school football players and will be broadcast live on NBC.
