The University of West Alabama football program and head coach Scott Cochran announced the hiring of Scott Fletcher as Special Teams Coordinator and Tight Ends Coach, bringing experience from Florida and UCLA, with Cochran expressing confidence in his coaching abilities.
A San Ramon, California native, Scott Fletcher played for Alabama from 2017-2020 as the starting long snapper, winning national titles in 2017 and 2020 and earning the Patrick Mannelly Award in his final season. Head coach Scott Cochran praised Fletcher’s leadership and work ethic, noting his role on Alabama’s leadership team. Following his college career, Fletcher was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft and later played for the Seattle Sea Dragons before the team’s shutdown in 2023 after the XFL-USFL merger.
After concluding his playing career, Scott Fletcher transitioned into coaching, starting as a Special Teams Graduate Assistant at Alabama in 2023. His experience with the Crimson Tide led to full-time roles at Florida and UCLA before joining West Alabama as Special Teams Coordinator and Tight Ends Coach under Scott Cochran.
