The Los Angeles Lakers are adjusting to their revamped roster after the NBA trade deadline, highlighted by the blockbuster acquisition of five-time All-Star Luka Doncic, but a recent viral practice video suggests that veteran Cam Reddish might be an overlooked secret weapon for the team.
The viral practice video, reportedly shared by Cam Reddish on his Instagram stories, was filmed before the Lakers traded D’Angelo Russell to the Nets on Dec. 29, but it has since gained significant attention online, surpassing 17 million views.
Reddish’s dominant performance in the 1-on-1 practice clips has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with one fan on X noting that, while Reddish excels in individual battles, team dynamics and a lack of trust from coaches have limited his opportunities as a primary option.
“He’s a pure hooper..he’s not a system player @ all..& none of his coaches allow him to play free..” a user wrote.
“Classic case of being miscasted throughout his career,” declared another.
Cam Reddish has appeared in 31 games for the Lakers this season, including eight starts, and is averaging 3.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 18.1 minutes per game.
