LeBron James made NBA history in Luka Doncic’s fourth game with the Los Angeles Lakers. Doncic, who had been recovering from a calf injury, returned with no minutes restriction and helped the Lakers defeat the Denver Nuggets 123-100. Doncic and LeBron combined for 57 points, 19 rebounds, and 12 assists, ending the Nuggets’ nine-game winning streak.
LeBron achieved a milestone, surpassing Michael Jordan’s record for most 25+ point games after turning 40 years old. With 6:59 remaining in the game, LeBron made two free throws to reach the 25-point mark, securing his 12th 25+ point game since turning 40.
Lakers coach Darvin Ham had a straightforward message for Luka Doncic: be more aggressive and play with a “killer” mentality. Doncic took this advice to heart, delivering a standout performance in the Lakers’ 123-100 win over the Denver Nuggets. He scored 32 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out seven assists, and made four steals in just 31 minutes.
LeBron James also had a remarkable game, scoring 25 points on 11-of-19 shooting, with nine rebounds and five assists. This performance helped LeBron break Michael Jordan’s record for most 25+ point games after turning 40 years old. LeBron now holds the record with 12 such games.
The Lakers’ next game will be against the Dallas Mavericks, Luka Doncic’s former team, on Tuesday. However, they will be without Anthony Davis, who is nursing an adductor injury.
