New Sarkisian contract tops out at $12.3M in ’31.

The University of Texas System board of regents approved a raise and contract extension for head football coach Steve Sarkisian through 2031, increasing his salary from $10.4 million to $10.8 million this year with annual raises up to $12.3 million, while also extending and raising the salaries of special teams coordinator Jeff Banks and linebackers coach Johnny Nansen.

Texas, the only program to make the CFP in the past two seasons, reached No. 1 in 2024 and played in the SEC championship in its first year in the conference, with Steve Sarkisian now 38-17 in four seasons and expected to contend for a national title again next season as Arch Manning takes over at quarterback following Quinn Ewers’ departure for the NFL.
