BREAKING: NFL Draft Prospect and Former Texas WR Isaiah Bond Arrested on Sexual Assault Warrant, Denies Allegation
Former Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond, a 2025 NFL Draft prospect, was arrested Thursday after turning himself in to police in Frisco, Texas, in connection with an outstanding warrant for sexual assault, per a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Bond was later released on bond.
The 21-year-old wideout, who began his collegiate career at Alabama, transferred to Texas following the retirement of Nick Saban. Bond played a key role for the Longhorns during their 2024 College Football Playoff run, recording 34 catches for 540 yards and five touchdowns, along with our carries for 98 yards and a rushing score. His speed and playmaking ability quickly made him a top draft prospect.
Details surrounding the alleged incident are still unclear. However, Bond released a statement via NFL Network strongly denying the accusation, calling it “patently false.”
“Regarding the accusation made against me, I would appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself and prove the claims made, patently false,” Bond stated. “I am in full cooperation with the authorities and will remain a willing and active participant in the investigation. Unfortunately, claims like these prove to be harmful to all involved, absent full review. I kindly request that all reserve judgment until the authorities provide a complete report based on truth and evidence.”
Bond’s legal situation comes just **two weeks before the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, where he was projected to be a second-round selection. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. had Bond going No. 57 overall to the Carolina Panthers in his final two-round Mock Draft released earlier this week.
A track star in high school, Bond impressed scouts with a 4.39-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, later improving that time to 4.34 seconds at Texas’ Pro Day. His elite speed and ability to separate have drawn significant attention during the pre-draft process.
Bond has reportedly taken or scheduled visits with the Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and Tennessee Titans, and is expected to participate in the Atlanta Falcons’ local prospect day.
It remains to be seen how this legal situation will affect Bond’s draft stock, but teams will closely monitor the investigation and any forthcoming legal developments. For now, Bond maintains his innocence and says he will fully cooperate with authorities.
