The Arkansas Razorbacks came out strong after halftime, hitting 9 of their first 12 shots to overcome a one-point LSU lead and secure a 70-58 victory Wednesday night at Bud Walton Arena. The win helped Arkansas even the season series after LSU’s earlier victory in January at the Maravich Center.
Arkansas took control for good at 43-41 after a second-chance layup by Karter Knox with 15:48 remaining. The Razorbacks extended their lead to eight with 12:30 left, maintaining that cushion for the rest of the game.
For LSU, freshman Robert Miller III had a breakout performance, scoring a career-high 16 points on 8-of-13 shooting—his first double-digit game in college. Cam Carter added 13 points and four assists, knocking down three three-pointers.
Zvonimir Ivisic led Arkansas with 25 points on an efficient 10-of-13 shooting, while Johnell David contributed 11 points and D.J. Wagner added 10.
LSU shot 39.1% from the field (25-of-64), including five three-pointers, while making 3-of-6 free throws. Arkansas had a strong second half, shooting 60% (15-of-25), primarily from inside, with just two three-pointers on five attempts. Overall, the Razorbacks finished the game shooting 51.9% (28-of-54).
Despite committing only nine turnovers, LSU held a slight edge in points off turnovers (8-7) and dominated in second-chance points (16-6) thanks to 10 offensive rebounds. However, Arkansas controlled the boards overall, outrebounding LSU 39-33.
It sounds like it was a competitive game with both teams battling hard. LSU did a great job limiting turnovers, which helped them stay in control, and they capitalized on second-chance opportunities. Even though Arkansas won the rebounding battle overall, LSU made the most of their offensive boards. Do you know the final score?
Looks like LSU has a tough road matchup coming up against Oklahoma. The Sooners have been strong this season, so it should be a good test for LSU. Do you think they have a shot at pulling off the win?
