Auburn University’s Johni Broome has been named the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame’s Power Forward of the Year, adding another accolade to his stellar collegiate career. This prestigious award recognizes Broome’s exceptional performance and impact as a power forward in men’s college basketball.
Earlier this year, Broome was also named a finalist for the 2025 Karl Malone Award, which honors the top power forward in Division I men’s basketball. He was joined by Michigan’s Danny Wolf, Texas Tech’s JT Toppin, UAB’s Yaxel Lendeborg, and Villanova’s Eric Dixon as finalists for this esteemed award.
In addition to these honors, Broome’s remarkable contributions have led to further recognition. He was selected as the NABC Pete Newell Big Man of the Year, underscoring his dominance in the paint and overall influence on the game.
Broome’s consistent excellence has significantly contributed to Auburn’s success, including a strong run in the NCAA tournament. His leadership and skill have solidified his status as one of the premier power forwards in college basketball.
