Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class was a success, ranking No. 9 in 247Sports’ composite team rankings. The class featured 21 blue-chip prospects—players rated four or five stars—including their highest-rated recruit, five-star offensive tackle Lamont Rogers from Mesquite, Texas. Looking ahead, the Aggies’ 2026 class has the potential to be even stronger. According to 247Sports, they currently hold the No. 2 ranking.
On Tuesday, Texas A&M football got disappointing news as four-star tight end Xavier Tiller decommitted, reopening his recruitment. Tiller, who originally committed in November, has 29 offers from top programs, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound standout recorded 25 receptions for 352 yards and seven touchdowns during his sophomore season at Langston Hughes (GA).
Hailing from Fairburn, Georgia, Tiller attended a Junior Day at Florida State in January, suggesting he was reconsidering his commitment. According to 247Sports’ Christian Clemente, Auburn is making a strong push to sway him away from Texas A&M.
Texas A&M started the 2024 season strong, bouncing back from a tough 23-13 loss to Notre Dame with seven consecutive wins. That streak featured victories over ranked SEC teams like Missouri and LSU. However, the Aggies struggled down the stretch, dropping four of their final five games, including a 35-31 loss to USC in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Mike Elko recently completed his first season as Texas A&M’s head coach. Before taking over in College Station, he spent two seasons leading the Duke Blue Devils, earning ACC Coach of the Year honors in 2022.
