Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class faced a setback on Tuesday with a key decommitment.
Four-star tight end Xavier Tiller withdrew his commitment to Mike Elko’s program, opting to reopen his recruitment. Tiller shared the news on social media with the assistance of Hayes Fawcett from On3.
Hailing from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia, Xavier Tiller stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 212 pounds. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, he is a four-star prospect, the No. 8 tight end, the No. 20 player in Georgia, and the No. 130 overall recruit in the 2026 class.
Along with Texas A&M, Tiller has received scholarship offers from 28 other programs, including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
Auburn appears to be the driving force behind Tiller’s decision to decommit from Texas A&M. Head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff remain actively recruiting the talented tight end. Prior to his announcement, Tiller mentioned plans to visit The Plains.
